A Wonderful Winter Wedding in Yorkshire...
I was very excited to be the photographer for Jo and Kev's Christmas Wedding at The Woodman Inn in lovely Yorkshire, near Leeds.
Bridal preparations were well underway when I arrived at The Woodman on the last Saturday before Christmas. Jo was totally calm as she got ready with her Mum, Christine, and baby Aiyana. Father of the bride, Martin, was stunned by his beautiful daughter looking gorgeous in her dress from Scarlett Poppy, along with flowers from Leonora Rose. Meanwhile downstairs, Kev enjoyed a Guinness and met family and friends as they arrived outside the pub.
Beautiful, romantic candle lit ceremony....
Jo had done a spectacular job of decorating the room for the ceremony. There were winter pine cones, foliage and romantic candles everywhere, giving a lovely cozy winter wedding welcome. Jo and Kev's guests must have felt like they had discovered a secret garden, where every little bit of space had been carefully dressed to look its best.
Jo walked down the aisle arm in arm with her Dad, behind her mum and adorable flower girls Aiyana and Reya. The service was filled with love, laughter and emotion as Jo and Kev exchanged rings from Phillip Stoner.
Cozy reception and wedding breakfast.....
Jo and Kev picked the perfect moment to leave the Inn as newlyweds, as the sun came out and their family and friends showered them with confetti. A snug, candle-lit drinks reception followed in The Orangery.
Then it was back over the road again for Kev's excellent speech. He included tales of Jo's first fantastic pink haired entrance into their work place on the day they met, to his Dad Kev's job as an Elvis impersonator (sadly we didn't get a performance - maybe at the anniversary reunion?!) and the couple's love of travelling the world together.
Time to Christmas party....
With the delicious wedding breakfast settling in everyone's tummies, the rooms were set up for the evening party and guests changed into all manner of Christmas garments and party outfits ready to dance into the night. Jo and Kev cut their elegant navy blue cake and then surprised everyone with a Christmas brass band in the bar area! The couple and their guests then hit the dance floor for more Christmasy disco fun - we were sad to leave!
