A Lovely Lake District Wedding....
The Lake District and Bowness-on-Windermere in particular is one of my most favourite places in the world! So you can understand my excitement in photographing Bex and Andy's beautiful wedding at the fabulous Burnside Hotel and Spa.
As I arrived in Bowness the typical Cumbrian weather was in full swing, with storm clouds forming and the rain starting to spit! Bridal preparations were well underway in the fantastic Penthouse suite (which included an amazing hot tub on the balcony!), with hair and make up artists busily working away.
Bex looked spectacular in her dress from Ava Rose Hamilton and her bridesmaids looked gorgeous in their very tasteful, pale pink dresses. Andy calmly got ready downstairs with his brother Tom and his dad Dean, while enjoying a few bottles of Heineken.
Stunning ceremony overlooking the gardens....
Bex walked down the aisle arm in arm with her dad John, behind her gorgeous bridesmaids and adorable daughter, Harlow. The service was filled with love and emotion as Bex and Andy exchanged rings.
The couple walked back up the aisle with little Harlow as a family, as friends sprinkled them with confetti. The Lake District rain managed to hold off a little while longer whilst the couple had a drinks reception and some photos outside overlooking Lake Windermere.
The rain started to pick up as storm Ciara moved in just as guests began to take their seats for the speeches and wedding breakfast BBQ! The speeches included tales from how Bex and Andy first met at the bar at an Asda House Christmas party - and then again the following year! - to brother and best man Tom's hilarious stories of growing up with Andy.
Time to Party!
The couple headed across the car park over to their evening reception quickly through the storm, which was now well underway. Guests watched the stunning bride and groom from around the dance floor as fabulous confetti cannons showered them from all angles! The couple and their guests then hit the dance floor for more fun! We were sad to leave and drive off into the storm after such as wonderful day.
