Huge congratulations to the lovely Louise and Chris who got married in Leeds last week. I was lucky enough to be their Leeds wedding photographer for the day, which included an intimate and laughter-filled wedding ceremony at Leeds Town Hall followed by a lovely reception nearby in Leeds City Centre.
This was my first post-lockdown wedding and I was so happy to be back out and about doing what I love. I'll also admit I was a little nervous about the impacts of social distancing and the other Covid-19 precautions on what I could and couldn't do - a real step into the unknown! In the event I was delighted with the photos and the fact that Louise and Chris had such a beautiful day despite the various imposed restrictions. In fact it was one of the funniest and most enjoyable ceremonies I have photographed :)
Louise and Chris' original plans to have a big do at Cookridge Hall had to be postponed until next year and instead they decided to tie the knot with just close friends & family present. To make the day even more special for Louise, Chris had arranged some luxury vintage cars to pick her up with her family and drive them into town - how romantic!
At Leeds Town Hall, we all signed in and had face masks ready to wear when required! Louise arrived in style in the vintage vehicle from Cartwright Cars and she looked absolutely stunning in her wedding dress from Confetti and Lace, shoes from Irregular Choice and with flowers from Down to Earth. The ceremony was full of love and laughs, particularly Louise's as she giggled when Chris had a couple of emotional stumbles with his vows!
After the ceremony we made a quick trip to Kirkstall Abbey for a few photographs of Louise and Chris together (I need to do a special shout out and thank you to Duncan - Chris's fantastic best man who also doubled up as my lighting assistant for this photo shoot!).
We then headed back into town for the wedding reception at Lost and Found where guests enjoyed a couple of glasses of fizz while they waited for the bride and groom. Louise and Chris couldn't have picked a better venue, with it's beautiful natural light - it was this Leeds wedding photographers dream! Toasts were made and glasses were raised to the fabulous couple before it was time for the wedding breakfast. I had a fantastic day with Louise, Chris and their families and I can't wait for next year's festivities! Bring on round two!
Big love Xx
