I'd been looking forward to shooting Jenny and Craig's wedding at Adel Church for ages with it being such a beautiful venue for such a great couple to get married at. I met them both through my lovely friend Louise who is Craig's sister and I knew their wedding was going to be non-stop fun and gorgeousness from the start!
Getting ready at the family home
It all began on one of the wettest days of the year, but it was clear that the weather wasn't going to stand in Jenny and Craig's way. I arrived early for the the bridal preparations at Jenny's mum's house and the girls were having a great time with Louise, (Make You Up) having their hair and make up done. Meanwhile, father of the bride Peter kept us all entertained with stories about the rugby, his new political satire (available on Amazon :)) and his excellent father of the bride socks!
The Autumnal ceremony at Adel Church
We weren't expecting amazing sunshine in October but a bit of blue sky wouldn't have gone amiss! It didn't matter though, because the colours in the grounds of Adel Parish Church were spectacular and Jenny looked absolutely stunning in her dress from Angel Brides with flowers from Floral Expressions. Daughter Amalie and son Jack were stealing hearts looking totally adorable in their respective bridesmaid and page boy outfits. The church interior was breathtaking and it was the perfect setting for a romantic ceremony.
The fabulous reception at
Alwoodley Community Hall
The Hall had been decorated so very prettily with lighting from Marvellous Glow, furniture from Furniture Hire UK and photobooth from Party Pics. It was a fantastic location for Jenny and Craig's reception, which included delicious afternoon tea from Mama Doreens (and yes this food-loving Yorkshire wedding photographer might just have gone the extra mile and helped out with a few left over cupcakes :) !!).
The speeches were fantastic and had all Jenny and Craig's guests crying with laughter at colourfully recounted tales of fun up ladders, culinary successes and mistaken identities!Â
The evening reception was every bit as full of fun and giggles. Once the cake was cut the couple danced to Ellie Goulding's Love Me Like You Do before partying on into the night with all their lovely guests. The fizz was really flowing and various hats and wigs came appeared out of nowhere - who doesn't love a few comedy props! I can honestly say that I had to tear myself away!
Finally - massive congratulations to Jenny and Craig and thank you for having me! It was a fantastic day that I enjoyed immensely! Wishing you both every happiness together xxx
