HUGE Congratulations to the wonderful Suzanne and Darren who got married in Leeds last week in an intimate ceremony at Leeds Town Hall with just immediate family present. I was lucky enough to be their Leeds wedding photographer for the day and due to the small numbers of guests (as per COVID-19 restrictions) I also doubled up as a witness!
I first met up with Suzanne and Darren around 18 months ago to discuss their wedding plans. Sadly, as so many couples have experienced, it has been a challenging few months trying to replan their wedding which was originally due to take place in June but had to be postponed due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
The wedding and ceremony itself couldn't have been more perfect though! Suzanne arrived in a car their fabulous Leeds hotel Dakota had arranged for her, while Darren and the boys waited outside the entrance to Leeds Town Hall in the (very) warm sunshine, smiling, laughing and with face masks at the ready!
It was an emotional moment when Darren saw Suzanne for the first time as she looked stunning in a dress from Celebrations Bridal in Ossett, Yorkshire, shoes from Moda in Pelle (in Leeds Victoria Quarter) and her fantastically on trend bright red hair! Darren and the boys also all looked dapper in their matching blue waistcoats and the gorgeous dried lavender button holes that Suzanne had made herself! (Top tip - I'm told dried flowers are another big wedding trend in bouquets for 2021 by my wedding florist friends at Floral Expression in Headingley!).
Suzanne looked fabulous during the ceremony with her tiger print face mask on! Daughter Immie filmed the ceremony on her phone so Suzanne and Darren's parents, family and friends could all be involved in the wedding ceremony! Suzanne and Darren looked amazing in their face masks as they left the Town Hall together as newly weds (the photo of them walking out together in their masks is one of my favourites!)
After a few emotional hugs and video calls outside the town hall I snapped a few photos of the wedding party with the iconic venue in the background before we wandered down to Park Square to have some chill out time on the grass where I bagged some lovely group shots. Darren's Grandparents had their wedding photos taken in the same spot and so we decided it was only right that we should do the same!
I had brilliant fun with Suzanne and Darren and their family and I'm so pleased that they asked me to be a part of their celebrations! Thank you so much for having me!
Big Love Xx
