Hi — we’re so glad you’re here. We’re a husband-and-wife photography and film team, based in Leeds and working across Yorkshire and beyond.

Heather | Photographer

I’m Heather, a wedding photographer with a background in art and design. I first started shooting film at art college and have always loved the softness, beautiful colours and timeless feel of 35mm film. Alongside film, I also shoot digitally and offer hybrid photo and video, bringing still images and moving moments together.

James | Videographer

James specialises in wedding videography, capturing the atmosphere, movement and sounds that bring your day back to life.

Together, we’re Heather Butterworth Film & Photography, a multi award-winning duo with ten years’ experience.

Our story started as best friends at school before we got married ourselves!

Based in Leeds, we photograph and film weddings across Yorkshire and beyond, bringing a calm, thoughtful approach to every celebration

We’re drawn to weddings that feel personal and atmospheric, where the little details mean something and the day reflects who you are.
Whether you’d love just a few relaxed portraits or plenty of time for group photos and portraits with all your favourite people, it’s your day, and we’ll make time for whatever matters most to you.
The aim is for you to enjoy every moment, knowing you’ll have photographs and films that bring it all rushing back.

Your Experience

Before the wedding, we’ll get to know you and your plans so you can feel confident about what’s ahead. A pre-wedding shoot is also a lovely chance to spend time together, get comfortable in front of the camera and have some fun before the big day.
